Miami Dolphins Rumors: Greg Jennings Signed with Michael Crabtree as Amari Cooper, DeVante Parker Targets? LaMichael James Re-Signs Over Knowshon Moreno

The Miami Dolphins are very aware they need to make some moves on offense to retool after letting go of Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson, Charles Clay and Mike Wallace. The addition of Kenny Stills and Jordan Cameron is simply not enough to help Ryan Tannehill in a crucial season of improvement. The team needs to grab at least one or two more wide receivers and are making the rounds of the remaining free agents to see what is available.

Michael Crabtree visited the Miami Dolphins last week, but the former San Francisco 49ers receiver did not sign a contract. According to ESPN's Trey Wingo, the Dolphins are also very interested in veteran Greg Jennings who was released by the Minnesota Vikings at the start of free agency after they finalized the trade for Wallace. The Dolphins will likely only sign one of those receivers in free agency before getting a rookie in the draft.

Crabtree is younger, but more injury prone. He has a better history of making big plays, but contract demands could hurt the Dolphins' chances of signing him. If Miami could get Crabtree at $5 million per season, that would be a huge bargain. They are really the only team getting linked to the wide receiver at the moment, so it remains to be seen if a deal can get done. Jennings is getting older, but would cost significantly less than Crabtree. The veteran would be a great voice for the younger players like Jarvis Landry and Stills while still being productive for Tannehill.

With Crabtree and Jennings get looked at, the Dolphins are also making moves at the running back spot. With just Lamar Miller scheduled in the backfield, the Dolphins announced they re-signed LaMichael James to a one-year contract. Miami acquired James after he was released by the 49ers. The running back has struggled to find his place in the NFL after a strong career at Oregon. He barely saw the field with the Dolphins, but the team has big plans for him in 2015. Knowshon Moreno is unlikely to return meaning James can finally have that big role he has been looking for since getting drafted three years ago.
