The Michigan State Spartans and Virginia Cavaliers are playing live on the NCAA tournament schedule on Sunday and the matchup in the third round for the East region is from the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte and will be on TV from CBS and streaming online from the March Madness as the number 7-seed MSU takes on the number 2-seed Cavs at 12:10 pm ET.

Michigan State comes in after a close matchup with Georgia and they have the chance to upset the number two seed and this could be one of the best matchups of the weekend. Michigan State did not have a great season, but they were strong with a 24-11 record and they have experience in these tournaments and that could mean a run into the Sweet 16.

The Sweet 16 part of the tournament will be set after Sunday and Kentucky still remains one of the favorites in the tournament and many have picked them to go all the way out of the Midwest. Virginia has one of the best defenses in the nation and they come in looking to keep the Spartans down and they come in averaging 71 points per game. MSU is ranked fourth in assists per game and they were ranked 32nd in the nation in field goal percentage.

Michigan State comes in having won five of the last six games they have played and while they lost against Wisconsin in overtime in the Big 10, the team now can make a run. Virginia has been picked by many to go far and they come in as a number two seed after falling to UNC in the ACC tournament and they last won against Belmont to move into this stage.

The team has the chance to make it into the Sweet 16 and they come in having lost two of the last five games they have played. The team ended the season with a loss to Louisville and they will try and shut down the Spartans offense, as they are ranked first overall in points allowed per game.
