The NC State Wolfpack and Villanova Wildcats are playing live in the third round on the NCAA Tournament schedule the game has a live stream on the March Madness website as the east region keeps going and both teams are looking to get into the Sweet 16 and it starts up at 7:10 pm ET on TBS for the TV coverage from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Villanova is the number one seed in the east region and many have picked them to make a run into the Final Four and they could matchup with Kentucky. The Wildcats should have a home field advantage a bit with the crowd and they come in after putting a killing on Lafayette with a 93-52 win in the second round aka the first round until the NCAA smartly changes it next year.
The team comes in after going 33-2 on the season and 16-2 in the Big East while winning that and they matchup with the number eight seed in NC State. Villanova has not lost since back in January and they have won 16 games in a row including in the conference and NCAA tournaments. The team won big against Xavier in the final and they now have NC State after winning against Lafayette. The Wildcats are ranked 23rd in the nation in scoring with 76 points per game and they shot 47 percent from the field.
NC State comes in after pulling things out against the LSU Tigers and now they will try and pull and upset with the Wildcats coming in. The team averages 70 points per game and they went 21-13 this season and 10-8 in the ACC and they won a game in the conference tourney before losing to Duke. The team had won three in a row before falling to Duke and now the team will try and sneak into the Sweet 16.
NC State has not gone far in quite some time and they are looking to get things going in the tournament and could make some memories while knocking off Villanova. The Wildcats made a run to the Final Four in 2009 and the team has been picked by many to get to the final four this year. The Wolfpack play in a tough conference and they have matched up with tough teams like Duke and North Carolina and they are tested for this type of game.
