Perry Ellis #34 of the Kansas Jayhawks goes up against Monte Morris #11 of the Iowa State Cyclones in the first half during the championship game of the Big 12 Basketball Tournament at Sprint Center on March 14, 2015 in Kansas City, Missouri."

The Kansas Jayhawks and New Mexico State Aggies are playing live on the NCAA Men's basketball second round schedule for the Midwest region on Friday and the game from the CenturyLink Center Omaha in Nebraska starts at 12:15 pm ET on TV from CBS and streaming online live and has the 15-seed against number 2-seed in KU and they are the favorites for the matchup.

Kansas comes into the game after losing the Big 12 tournament to Iowa State, but the Cyclones are already out and now the Jayhawks have the chance to move on. New Mexico State is a strong team from the WAC, but this is a 15-2 matchup and that gives Kansas the advantage. There have already been some major upsets with two 14-seeds winning on Thursday and that puts all the higher seeds on alert.

Wayne Selden comes in after scoring 25 points against the Cyclones, while Perry Ellis added nine rebounds and now the Big 12 side is looking to make a deep run. The team has the Midwest region and that means Kentucky is lurking if they want to make it to the Final Four and that would be a great matchup if it happens. Kentucky is undefeated and most see them making a run to the finals and they are the favorites to win this tournament.

Selden is dealing with an ankle injury and he is expected to be fine for the second round game and Ellis comes in leading the team in scoring and rebounds per game. Kansas has talent and they have plenty of experience this season against teams that are currently in the NCAA tournament. The Big 12 was one of the deeper conferences this season and that gives Kansas some solid foundation to look back on as they try and make another run to the Final Four.

The team is averaging 70 points per game this season and they won a number of games over ranked teams on the schedule this year. The team is ranked in the top 30 in blocks per game and rebounds per game on defense and with Ellis playing very well, it could be the main area that could push this game in Kansas's favor.  The team won 26 games this season and they went 13-5 in the conference this year while making it to the conference tournament finals and losing to the Cyclones.

The Aggies come in from the WAC and they only lost one game in conference play this season. The team went 13-1 and 23-10 overall and they have not lost a game since January. The team has played well coming in and now they have their toughest test of the entire season with Kansas.
