Greg Hardy remains on the free agent market and recent reports from his agent have an NFL team interested in signing the former Carolina Panthers star and this comes as teams like the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns could be potential landing spots for the defensive end.

Hardy is a free agent for the Panthers and he comes into the offseason after missing most of the season after being placed on the exempt list last year. According to ESPN.com, Hardy was facing domestic violence charges last year and he played in one game before being moved to the exempt list. Reports have the Panthers not interested in bringing back Hardy after paying him $13 million last season and his agent says a team -who doesn't want to be identified-is working on a deal with Hardy.

--UPDATES: Hardy is meeting with the Cowboys this week and has plans to meet with the Seahawks. Per Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are working on a deal for Hardy and want to sign him.

The team that Hardy and his agent Drew Rosenhaus are negotiating with could be the Dallas Cowboys, as numerous rumors have come out over the past few weeks that they were interested in the defensive end. Mike Fisher from Fox Sports and the Dallas radio starting 105 The Fan has been reporting on the interest in Hardy for weeks. According to Fisher, the team is "negotiating to sign" Hardy and this comes after Rosenhaus said he was "uncertain" a deal would get done this week.

The Raiders were rumored to be interested, but owner Mark Davis came out and put some hot water on that talk. According to ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys have shown some interest in Hardy, with Todd Archer writing that it was "minimal interest" in the defensive end, but that could be changing now. The Cowboys were in the bottom half of the league in sacks last season and Hardy could give the team an All-Pro talent at a bargain price.

Hardy has off the field issues after he was accused of assault last year, but his legal case has been resolved and he is looking to move on and sign with a team. His legal issues and the possibility of a suspension could make Hardy a less expensive option than he should be and that is big for the Cowboys. The team stayed out of the DeMarco Murray deal with the Eagles, as they did not want to pay as much money as Philly did and now they could look at other ways to dole out their remaining space.

Hardy could be a free agent fit for the Redskins, Lions, Seahawks and Browns, as all of those teams could use his depth on the defensive line. Hardy comes in after missing 15 games last season and the MMQB reports that Hardy could be suspended for the first six games of the season after his past issues. Hardy's possible suspension could cause some teams to try and sign him for below his value and it also could cause some teams to drop out of the chase altogether.

Hardy had his best season in 2013 with 15 sacks and 59 tackles and that came after his breakout season in 2012 when he had 11 sacks in 15 games. Hardy is still just 26 years old and the Panthers have showed that they are not planning on bringing him back this offseason.
