Percy Harvin Rumors: Oakland Raiders Push Deal After DeMarco Murray Signed as Amari Cooper, Kevin White Drafted? New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills Seek Contract

With DeMarco Murray swept up by the Philadelphia Eagles, attention shifts to Percy Harvin who is hoping teams still believe he can be a versatile threat. The New York Jets opted to release Harvin as a cap casualty after the two sides could not agree on a re-worked contract. Now a free agent, several teams are reportedly interested, but have yet to hand a contract to the receiver.

Harvin is currently in Buffalo visiting with his former head coach Rex Ryan. The Bills have been very active in free agency so far trading for LeSean McCoy and Matt Cassel. Now they appear ready to look at another wide receiver. ESPN's Josina Anderson is reporting Harvin's visit is going well with the Bills as the receiver appears comfortable with Ryan and their coaching staff. However, Harvin is expected to take other visits before making a final call on where to sign.

Anderson is reporting that the issue with the Bills is that Harvin might not be used as a tradition wide receiver which is not the role he wants to play. Harvin wants to be the down-field threat rather than a "gadget guy" for a team. Buffalo has Sammy Watkins in that role along with Robert Woods. Harvin might not appreciate being the third look for the quarterback.

Teams are aiming to take a look at Harvin if the Bills let him leave the facilities. The Oakland Raiders would be very wise to take a glance his way. The team has not done anything to address their need for more offensive fire power. They were aiming to get a chance to talk to Murray, but he is gone. The team signed Roy Helu for the position, but the need wide receivers in the worse way. There is a chance that Oakland is waiting to get someone in the draft, but if they can also afford to sign someone, they should. Outside of Harvin they could also look Hakeem Nicks.

The Green Bay Packers and Patriots are also reportedly interested. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Packers would like Harvin on a cheap deal as would the Patriots. New England just signed Brandon Gibson to a contract while restructuring the deal of Danny Amendola so a move for Harvin appears unlikely.
