Miami Dolphins Rumors: Mike Wallace Pay Cut Helps Jordan Cameron, Knowshon Moreno Contracts After Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills Deal, Ryan Tannehill Extension Likely

Mike Wallace has created a lot of bad headlines in his two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. That has caused the wide receiver's future to remain in a state of flux for most of the offseason. The Dolphins had made it clear they were uncertain what to do with Wallace moving forward as his high salary and locker room issues were not completely wanted anymore. However, the receiver is suddenly changing his tune about the franchise and might be willing to work with the front office in order to stay put.

The Dolphins want to be spenders in free agency, but so far has only made one real move. Granted it was the biggest move of free agency as they acquired Ndamukong Suh with the biggest contract in NFL history for a defensive player. South Beach won Suh with $60 million in guaranteed money via ESPN.com. However, that contract comes at a price in terms of other players. The addition of Suh has forced Wallace to either accept a pay cut with the team or risk getting released in the offseason. The receiver is apparently now willing to work out a new contract with the Dolphins.

"Like I said I am willing to help out the team, but at the same time I'm not about to do nothing crazy either," Wallace said, via ESPN's Josina Anderson. "I'll definitely help the team out, but it has to be reasonable-what I feel is reasonable. I have to see what exactly what my agent and the team is talking about and whatever I feel is reasonable. It's not set like this is what it is. If we come to an agreement, I'm with it. Like I said, I'm not about to do something too crazy. I still have a family that comes first. It's going to be to where I get my money back. It's not going to be like I just take a cut and that's what it is."

Wallace has been making amends with the Dolphins while sitting in a state of limbo with the franchise. According to quarterback Ryan Tannehill the two are totally fine and the quarterback is excited to continue working with the wide receiver. Truthfully, the Dolphins need Wallace regardless. After releasing both Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson, the receiving rotation was left to Jarvis Landry and Wallace. The Buffalo Bills are currently trying to pull Charles Clay away by giving him a deal Miami cannot match. Wallace is necessary.

The Dolphins are aware they need some upgrades. The team has brought in Jordan Cameron for a visit. There is a possibility of re-signing Knowshon Moreno to a contract. Miami was desperate for Wallace to take a pay cut and with his $9.9 million getting reduced a release is unlikely.
