Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: DeMarco Murray Signed After Sam Bradford, Nick Foles Trade? CJ Spiller Option as Percy Harvin, Michael Crabtree Replace Jeremy Maclin

For the time being, it appears the Philadelphia Eagles have their quarterback rotation taken care of. It is certainly not the rotation everyone expected after the team acquired Sam Bradford in a trade, sending Nick Foles packing, but it is the move Chip Kelly made. Now, the team must begin to focus back on reloading offensive pieces after losing Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy as the Eagles target several big names left on the market.

According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are hoping to pull DeMarco Murray away from the Dallas Cowboys as their replacement of McCoy. The Eagles thought they were landing Frank Gore in a deal. They had a contract in place and everything until the Indianapolis Colts swooped in with something else and pulled the former San Francisco 49ers back away. Now the Eagles are once again left to look at the drawing board which includes Murray.

ESPN reported that Murray met with head coach Jason Garrett on Tuesday night, but it is unclear what they discussed. The running back deleted all things Cowboys from his social media accounts after not hearing from the team for a week. It was assumed he was ready to bolt after the silence, but his agent and the team broke the ice which has Murray back in the picture.

The question becomes whether or not the Eagles can afford Murray and whether or not they will bid the highest. Right now, the running back is getting heavy interest from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders, both of which can afford pricey contracts for Murray. The running back is looking to get his money and get it now while his value is high. That is the lone reason what Dallas could be left out.

The Eagles have a lot of pieces left to add after losing several key free agents. If Bradford or Mark Sanchez are going to be at all successful, they need weapons. Murray would certainly be that type of weapon along with a wide receiver. Maclin has yet to be replaced and options are getting thin. Torrey Smith has been signed which leaves players like Hakeem Nicks, Michael Crabtree, Percy Harvin and Cecil Shorts available. Most of those players will be low-cost contracts, but the Eagles need to move quickly before more signings take place.
