The Philadelphia Eagles could be forced to go to Plan B when it comes to the running back position. So far this offseason, the Eagles have let go of two of their most important offensive pieces in LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin. That leaves then with Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews and Darren Sproles as their go-to targets. After hoping to land Frank Gore in free agency, who will the team target following his deal to the Indianapolis Colts?

The Philadelphia Eagles were preparing to print jerseys with Gore's name on them. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles presented the former San Francisco 49ers running back with a three-year, $12 million contract and things looked to be done deal. However, the Indianapolis Colts swooped in with what Schefter is reporting to be a similar contract and Gore is preparing to sign when them over the Eagles. Schefter also writes that the Colts' contract presented also includes $8.5 million in guaranteed money. That leaves the Eagles empty handed.

So where does Philadelphia look now with free agency sent to begin in mere hours? Could CJ Spiller be at the top of their list? When the Eagles finalized the McCoy, Buffalo Bills trade Spiller announced he would not be returning to the franchise in free agency. He then went on to say he was pretty sure Chip Kelly had the number of his agent.

"I'm pretty sure that Chip [Kelly] has my agent's phone number," Spiller said, via NFL Network. "I'm pretty sure that we might have to make a call over there."

Outside of DeMarco Murray, Spiller is the best available option. The Eagles could try and land Murray, but he might be demanding more than the Eagles are willing to spend. Considering the team must also make a move for a wide receiver, they have to be careful with the salary cap. NFL.com believes the Eagles could be a prime landing spot for Percy Harvin who was just released by the New York Jets. He was would be a solid fit for Kelly's offense while giving the team another special teams weapon.

Michael Crabtree and Hakeem Nicks could be targets for Kelly. Both wide receivers could come pretty cheap while being slightly older voices in the huddle. Philadelphia could always opt to draft someone, but that would make their receiving corps relatively young, lacking experience.
