The New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates are playing live on the Grapefruit League Spring Training schedule on Thursday and the matchup from McKechnie Field starts at 1:05 pm ET and has coverage on the MLB.com website from MLB.TV as NY comes in following a loss and after A-Rod made his debut with the team this year.

The Yankees come in after a loss against the Phillies that saw Nathan Eovaldi start for the team and they are looking to get everyone in shape heading into the season. The Yankees have tons of questions when it comes to the rotation and they are hoping that he can solidify things. CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka are coming back after injuries and they need to stay healthy for any chance of the Yankees winning this season.

A-Rod came in and had a hit in his first at bat back for the team and he is hoping to contribute as well. The team has Chase Headley as the starting third baseman and that means more DH and possibly first base. A-Rod is coming back after missing all of last season and he looked solid in his debut. The team has Andrew Miller as the ace in the bullpen after signing him to pitch alongside Dellin Betances and the team is hoping the bullpen can be a major strength this year.

Esmil Rogers starts for the Yankees against the Pirates and they are hoping that he can pitch well and make the team this season. The Yankees have Tanaka coming in soon for game action and he is being moved along slowly this spring. The Pirates come in after a loss against the Blue Jays and they will next play against the Yankees art Steinbrenner Field on Friday. The Pirates were one of the top teams in the NL last season, while the Yankees missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
