Quarterback Russell Wilson #3 of the Seattle Seahawks celebrates with running back Marshawn Lynch #24 of the Seattle Seahawks after Lynch scored a touchdown during the first quarter of the game against the Oakland Raiders at CenturyLink Field on November 2, 2014 in Seattle, Washington. "

The Seattle Seahawks are hoping to bring Marshawn Lynch back in 2015 on a new contract and at the same time the team is also trying to sign Russell Wilson to an extension that could make him one of the highest paid players in football and both deals could tighten up the salary cap if the Hawks want to target players like Jeremy Maclin, Torrey Smith, Randall Cobb, Julius Thomas, Owen Daniels or Jordan Cameron in free agency.

The Seahawks are coming into the offseason after a tough loss in the Super Bowl and much of the conversation this offseason has surrounded Lynch. The Seahawks are hoping to bring Lynch back this offseason, but so far the two sides have not been able to reach a deal. According to Pro Football Talk, Lynch admitted in an interview in Turkey while promoting an American Football Without Barriers camp that he was expecting to get the ball at the goal line in the Super Bowl.

Lynch was asked after the game about the decision and was diplomatic, saying that it's a team sport and not just about one player. Lynch elaborated in Turkey and said that had he scored, he would have been the national story and the face of the game, but obviously that didn't happen. During the season there were reports that Lynch likely would not be back in 2015, but once the Super Bowl ended, all signs pointed to the Seahawks wanting him back.

Wilson is the next big issue for the Seahawks past Lynch, as he is set to be one of the highest paid players in football on his next deal. The team is working to get Wilson in on an extension, as he will be a free agent in 2016 and is entering the final year of his contract. Wilson isn't like Andrew Luck and RG3, as he was a third round pick and that means he doesn't have a fifth year option. The Seahawks have been very lucky that their star quarterback counts as six figures on his deal and now he is going to be paid a lot more.

According to NFL.com, the Seahawks may look at some unique options for Wilson's deal, as they could make it fully guaranteed to help with the cap. Even if the deal was 75 percent guaranteed it would be much higher than what any NFL team usually does and that could be an option for the Seahawks. The team has a solid amount of cap space and the most pressing situations are Wilson and Lynch, while Byron Maxwell is a free agent and could be retained.

Lynch has not yet made a final decision on coming back in 2015 or retiring, but the Seahawks are hopeful that he will be on the roster next year. The team may look at free agency depending on how things play out and they could use a new WR after the trade with Percy Harvin last year. Torrey Smith is on the market and may leave Baltimore, while Jeremy Maclin also could be a fit. Maclin was not hit with the franchise tag and with negotiations with the Eagles moving slowly, he could be an option for the Seahawks.
