Chelsea Transfer News: Dave Whelan Asks Blues to Stop Stalling Over Moses Deal; Romelu Lukaku Hits Out at Chelsea Treatment

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has asked Chelsea to "make up their mind" in their long-drawn pursuit of Victor Moses, as Romelu Lukaku slammed the Blues for the lack of playing time he received last season.

Moses has been on Chelsea's radar all summer, with Wigan reportedly rejecting three previous bids. It is understood the Latics are holding out for somewhere between £8-10 million ($12.5-$15.7 million), with the Blues only willing to come anywhere near that amount with the help of add-ons based on appearances and success.

"Chelsea have got to make their mind up -- yes or no -- and at present they're messing about a little bit which is unusual for Chelsea because they're up front if they want someone," Whelan told Sky Sports News.

"They would usually go and make a bid and get the player. With Victor, Chelsea have come in with offers including payments later, etc.

"It's unusual for Chelsea because they're usually a very straightforward club. If they come with the fee, we'll sell him. If they don't, we'll keep him.

"I'd like to keep Victor. I think he'll benefit enormously from spending another season, or two or three seasons, under Roberto Martinez."

Moses, 21, has just one year remaining on his contract and has made it clear he prefers a move to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku, meanwhile, has slammed Chelsea, accusing them of making him fall out of love with the game. The Belgian international made a loan move to West Bromwich Albion for the upcoming season and admitted his unhappiness at the way he was treated while he was at Stamford Bridge.

"I couldn't see myself staying at Chelsea. I sacrificed a year of my career with them and didn't want to put up with it anymore," Lukaku told the Daily Star.

"I decided in March I wanted to go out on loan, and told my agent to find me a club. I am relieved to have found a solution. On the first day of pre-season I told the manager I wanted to leave.

"Roberto Di Matteo told me I ought to think about Chelsea as there weren't going to be many other strikers this season, but this is the time for me to think about myself.

"I got sick of watching the others from the bench. I just played 12 games and when I was playing well, they would take me off. I lost my hunger for the game over the past year. I won't beat about the bush -- my season at Chelsea went very badly.

"As regards getting minutes on the pitch, I wasted my time. Last season I was in the reserves alongside a young lad who'd barely turned 15 and I asked myself what I was doing there."
