The Houston Rockets and LA Clippers are playing on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the game is live from the Staples Center and will be on ESPN and the WatchESPN website streaming past 10:30 pm ET as Los Angeles hosts the matchup of top western conference teams and this will have Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin out, leaving James Harden and Chris Paul to lead the way.
The Rockets come into the game after a win against the Phoenix Suns and that was a dominant performance from James Harden, as he nearly had a triple double. Harden has been one of the best players in the NBA this season and he comes in leading the team in scoring and is one of the leading candidates to win MVP this year. Harden had 40 points with 12 rebounds and nine assists and the Rockets come in with a 36-16 record and they are second in the southwest division.
The team has the Dallas Mavericks out of the All-Star break and they come in against the Clippers, who have 34 wins on the season. The Rockets are ranked seventh in scoring at 103 points per game and they are ranked 15th in points allowed this season. Harden is averaging 27 points per game and he is having a LeBron-like season, as he is also tops in assists with nearly seven per game. Griffin and Howard take some star power out of the game with injuries, but Harden and Paul will be ready to lead the way.
The Clippers come into the game after a win against the Mavericks and they will play against the Spurs coming out of the break. The team is ranked third in points per game and Chris Paul has been the leader, as he comes in after scoring 25 points and putting up 13 assists against the Mavs. DeAndre Jordan was huge against the Mavs, adding 13 rebounds in the matchup.
