The Buffalo Bills have a new head coach in Rex Ryan and he may look at making moves at quarterback this offseason, as Mark Sanchez or Brian Hoyer could be free agent targets, while a Nick Foles or Kirk Cousins trade are other potential options over EJ Manuel along with Brett Hundley and Jameis Winston and this comes as Darrelle Revis is also a target in free agency.

The Bills brought in Ryan to take over for Doug Marrone and he has already put his stamp on the team in his first press conference. Ryan said that the team is capable of making the playoffs and that they have one of the best defenses in the league. Ryan was asked about Sanchez in his first press conference and he said that the quarterback would be evaluated like all other free agents. Last season the team used EJ Manuel and Kyle Orton and missed the playoffs.

ESPN.com reports that the Bills and the Jets are interested in going after Darrelle Revis as a free agent and that would be if the Patriots do not pick up his option. The Patriots have expressed interest in keeping Revis, but they may not want to pick up his $20 million option. Revis has been playing like an All-Pro since coming back from his serious knee injury and now he could sign another big deal. Revis comes in after making two picks this season and winning the Super Bowl with the Patriots.

Ryan is in a similar position that he was with the Jets, as the Bills are a team that struggles on offense at times and has a strong defense. If Ryan can get a better quarterback, there is a chance that this team could be playoff bound for the first time in years. Kyle Orton wasn't terrible in 2014, but had the team had a better quarterback, there is a chance they could have been in better position to make the playoffs. The Bills have some strong offensive personnel in Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods and Fred Jackson, but they need a quarterback to bring it all together.

The Bills finished the season 9-7 last year for their first winning record in some time and that led to Marrone using an opt out clause in his contract. The team was happy to turn the page on Marrone, as he did not turn around the offense like many expected him to and he did not develop Manuel into a consistent starter. The Bills defense was ranked third in the league in passing yards allowed per game and 11th in rushing yards allowed per game.

The offense was ranked 18th in passing yards per game and 25th in rushing yards per game and that is where Ryan will need to fix things. Greg Roman is taking over as offensive coordinator and the team could look at trade options at QB. The Eagles are shopping Nik Foles, while Kirk Cousins could be a target. The team doesn't have a first round pick and they also could look at some young prospects, including Brett Hundley or Shane Carden in the draft. CJ Spiller is a free agent and may return.
