The bout between Murata and Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan was much more tactical. Both fighters stood in the middle of the ring and slugged it out. It looked more like a territorial fight between two rams as the locked head-to-head for most of the first round.

There was more action coming from the stands as impatient fans could not deal with teir slow style of boxing. Atoev landing a few brisk punches towards the end of the match to silence the critics and took the round 4-1.

Japan's Murata came out firing with upper cuts  in the second round as both boxers assumed their first round positions. Atoev snapped out and landed a combination of hooks on the Japanese.

In the end, however, Murata battled back, dazing the fighter from Uzbekistan in the third round taking the victory.
