The Arizona Wildcats and Stanford Cardinal are playing live on the NCAA college basketball schedule on Thursday and the matchup is on ESPN2 and the WatchESPN website streaming online at 9 pm ET and the matchup is from Maples Pavilion as the number seven team tries to keep things going well in conference play.

Stanley Johnson comes in leading the Wildcats in points and rebounds this season and he comes in after leading the team to a win against Utah in their last matchup. The team plays against Cal after the matchup with Stanford and the Wildcats come in ranked number seven in the nation and they are 16-2 on the season. The team is 4-1 in Pac 12 conference play and the Cardinal have played well with a 13-4 record and a 4-1 record in the conference.

Arizona comes in averaging 74 points per game and they are one of the best shooting teams in the nation, ranked 15th in field goal percentage. The team has won four of the last five games and they last lost to Oregon State and they went until December 23 without losing this season. Coming up the team plays Stanford and they just beat eighth ranked Utah and they will matchup with the team again later this season. Rondae Hollis Jefferson has been playing well and Johnson comes in after putting up 18 points and nine rebounds against Utah.

Stanford comes in with a win over the Huskies and the team next plays against the Arizona Sun Devils. The team is averaging 73 points per game and they come in having won three in a row and seven of the past eight games. The team has matchups with Arizona, Washington and UCLA coming up and they have played well to start the season in the Pac-12 conference. The Pac-12 has been a down conference overall this season and they have a couple ranked teams right now and both Arizona and Utah have been in the top 10 at the same time.

The Wildcats are the top team in the Pac-12 and many think they can be a sleeper national title contender. The Wildcats come in with wins against Oregon, Arizona State and Colorado before playing Utah and they have matchups with Washington as well as Washington State coming up. USC and UCLA are on the schedule and Arizona could have a very good record by the end of the season.
