Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: Kyrie Irving Injury Forces Nate Robinson, Jordan Farmar Contracts? Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson Trades Denied After LeBron James Praise

The Cleveland Cavaliers got a marquee win on Monday when they beat the surging Chicago Bulls. The Cavaliers cruised to a 108-94 victory as the team finally looked like they were putting everything together after all of the recent roster moves. With things starting to flow, the Cavaliers are hoping to gain some momentum in order to make a run back into Eastern Conference contention. However, is there still one more trade up their sleeve?

The Cavaliers are well aware that they are one injury away from having things go off the rails again. Having secured depth at multiple positions, there is still no one playing behind Kyrie Irving after Dion Waiters was sent packing. Yahoo's Marc Spears is reporting that the Cavaliers are working on acquiring a veteran point guard either by trade or on the free agent market. The team has some quality options considering both Nate Robinson and Jordan Farmar are available after being waived. Ramon Sessions could be available in the coming weeks from the Sacramento Kings.

If Irving were to get injured, the Cavaliers chances at a title are over. The point guard is the center piece to the team. It was easy to replace Anderson Varejao with Timofey Mozgov and adding Iman Shumpert and JR Smith certainly helped fit needs as well, but Irving is a player the Cavaliers simply cannot play without. LeBron James and Kevin Love are still learning how to play together meaning Irving has been one of their biggest offensive threats. Losing him could be a catastrophe.

The Cavaliers will not make any more drastic moves before the trade deadline. There have been reports that Tristan Thompson could be sent packing for another big name. He and the Cavaliers are struggling to come to terms on a contract extension after Yahoo Sports reported the power forward rejected Cleveland's first offer. Thompson has really come along at this point in the season and Cleveland cannot afford to let go of his size.

There are also the Kevin Love trade rumors floating around. Many are wondering if Love plans on opting out of his contract at the end of the season and not returning to Cleveland. The forward continues to deny the idea, stressing that he fully intends to help build something special in Cleveland. That remains to be seen, but do not expect Love to be sent away before the deadline.
