The Miami Heat and LA Clippers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Sunday and the matchup from the Staples Center is on at 3:30 pm ET as Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh visit Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and this matchup has Miami looking to stay in the mix in the east, as they are on a tough west coast road trip and are under .500 this year.
Miami comes into the game at 15-21 on the season and they are looking to bounce back after a loss against the Portland Trail Blazers. The team has the Clippers and then the Lakers next at the same Staples Center this week and that should at least help with travel on this road trip. Wade scored 23 points against the Blazers and he comes in leading the team and they are ranked 27th in points per game and 11th in defensive scoring.
The Clippers come in at second in the Pacific division and they are 25-12 on the season and they are coming in after a win against the Mavericks. The Clippers will play next on the road against the Blazers and they come in ranked fifth in the league in scoring this season with 106 points per game. The team is ranked 19th in points allowed and fifth in assists per game and they are just 24th in rebounds per game this season and Doc Rivers is looking to improve in those areas.
Blake Griffin comes in after scoring 22 points against the Mavericks and the Clippers got major contributions from their Big 3 in that game. The team had Griffin leading in scoring, while DeAndre Jordan had 15 rebounds and Chris Paul added 13 assists to lead the Clippers. The Clippers have been winning big as of late and the only game they have lost over a nice stretch is against the Hawks and they have been playing as good as anyone this season.
Miami has lost five of six and now they are on a west coast road trip and that didn't get started well with a loss against the Blazers. Miami has struggled since losing LeBron James and while they now are hoping they can turn things around during this next stretch of games. The two teams have played already this season and in that matchup the Miami Heat lost at home with Dwyane Wade missing the game, while Bosh had 28 points in that matchup.
