The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and North Carolina Tar Heels are playing live on the ACC college basketball schedule on Monday and the matchup on ESPN and the WatchESPN website starts up at 7 pm ET from the Dean E. Smith Center as ND and UNC matchup as ranked teams on the calendar.

The teams are ranked in the top 20, with UNC coming in at number 18 and Notre Dame ranked at number 13 in the nation. Both teams are clean in the ACC and this is a top matchup in the conference, as ND is 14-1 on the season, while UNC is 11-3 overall. The Tar Heels come in looking to keep things going on the schedule, as they got a win over Clemson to start off the ACC and now they are looking to go to 2-0 in the conference with play starting in 2015.

The team comes in having won five in a row and they have been impressive while scoring 80 points per game this season. The team is ranked 16th in the nation and second in rebounding and they also are fourth in assists while shooting nearly 46 percent from the field. The ACC is one of the toughest conferences in the nation and the group has a number of ranked teams, including Duke, Virginia in the top three and Louisville in the top five this season as well as Norte Dame.

The Tar Heels come in with one of their toughest stretches of the season, as they play against Notre Dame and then against Louisville on the schedule. The Tar Heels have been impressive on defense as well, ranking 12th in the nation in rebounds per game and averaging nearly eight steals per game.

The Irish come into the game after a win against Georgia Tech and they next have a tough matchup with Virginia on the schedule. The team comes in playing well and they are averaging 85 points per game to ranked third in the nation and they are first overall in field goal percentage. The team has won 10 in a row and they have a matchup with Duke looming at the end of the month. The team has not lost since November and now they come into the bulk of the ACC schedule with plenty to prove.
