Dec 08, 2014 07:25 PM EST

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets are playing on the NBA season schedule from the Barclays Center on Monday and the Royal family with Prince William and Kate Middleton will be in attendance as they visit New York City and the matchup starts at 7:30 pm ET as LeBron James plays against Deron Williams as the Cavs try and continue their winning streak over an east rival.

The Cavaliers have been playing much better as of late and now the team is 11-7 after getting off to a slow start. LeBron and the Cavs got some revenge on the Raptors, as they had lost to the team earlier in the season. James had 24 points and 13 assists in the game and Tristan Thompson added 14 rebounds and now the Big 3 looks like they are getting much more comfortable together. The Nets matchup is sandwiched in between two games against the Raptors and those are important, as they are a division leading team.

The Raptors are not a team to look at lightly anymore, as they are likely going to win the Atlantic division for the second season in row. The Nets are a marginal team in the middle of the east, while the Knicks and Celtics are not good and the Sixers are basically a D-League team at this point. The Raptors know that it won't be easy, but they have the chance to do it, while the Cavs know that winning their division likely goes through the Bulls. The team is currently first in the division and it took a little while to get there and they expect the Bulls to be there at the end.

James comes in leading the team in scoring with 24 points per game and the Cavaliers overall are averaging 103 points per contest. The team is averaging 98 points allowed per game and they have continued to rise in the rankings since starting off as one of the worst defensive teams in the league. James and the Cavs are in town playing the Nets and James went to the Knicks game against the Blazers on Sunday to check things out and now they will play in BK in front of the royal couple.

The Cavaliers have not lost in three games in December and they finished November strong and now they are on a six game winning streak. The team won over the Magic, Pacers and Wizards at home before winning against the Bucks, Knicks and Raptors on the schedule and now they have BK before games against Toronto and Oklahoma City. The Nets come into the game after a bad loss to the Atlanta Hawks and the team now plays the Cavs before another tough matchup with the Bulls.

The Nets come in averaging 97 points per game and they are ranked 14th in points allowed and they have a tall task with James and company. Brook Lopez comes in after scoring 20 points and grabbing seven rebounds against the Hawks and now they play the Cavaliers at home and they will try and snap their winning streak. Protesters may try and shut things down, but the game will be played on Monday night.
