The Atlanta Falcons may not the gaudy stats and impressive record that the Green Bay Packers currently own, but they are division leaders and intend to be treated as such. The Falcons come in to Lambeau Field leading the rather dismal NFC South and are looking to keep the momentum in their favor after winning the past three of four games. Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers have won four straight games and six in a row at home and look to extend those numbers on Monday night.
Green Bay is coming off a week where they took down the division-leading New England Patriots after Aaron Rodgers threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns in the game. The Packers are not 9-3 while sitting one game ahead of the Detroit Lions for the NFC North division title. After winning their last eight of nine, the Packers ae hoping to get up big on the Atlanta Falcons after the team almost defeated them last season.
Rodgers is putting together an MVP-like season which will be the x-factor in this game. He has 32 touchdowns to just three interceptions this season while putting up 20 of those at home. However, it is not just the Green Bay offense getting things done. Their defense is only allowing an average of 17.3 points per game.
The Falcons have some momentum. The team beat the Arizona Cardinals last week after strong performances from Steven Jackson, Julio Jones and Harry Douglas. Ryan threw for 361 yards while Jackson put up over 100 as well as Douglas and Jones. The team will be getting back Roddy White from an ankle sprain that could help move things along as well.
Atlanta sits on top of the NFC South and got help after the Saints fell to the Panthers on Sunday. Their schedule does not get easier. After the visit to Green Bay, they face the Pittsburgh Steelers, head on the road to face New Orleans and then end the season against the Panthers. If the Falcons can escape Green Bay with an upset win, they put themselves in a good position to get to the playoffs.
