The Arsenal Gunners and Stoke City are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the game at 10 am ET from Britannia Stadium is on the NBC Sports Network and streaming from the NBCSN Live Extra website and Arsene Wenger is looking for his team to get things going in the EPL as the December schedule moves along.
Arsenal comes into the game at sixth in the league this season and after leading things through the first half last season, they are looking to have a strong second this year. The team faltered down the stretch last year and now they are trying to get back into the top four after being in the Champions League. The team has been up and down and while they come in with a win in their last two matches, they had a tough loss before that against Man United and that was at home.
The team now is on the road again and they will play Stoke City ahead of a UCL matchup with Galatasaray and that will be tough. The team then plays against Newcastle before travelling to play Liverpool at Anfield and this is the chance for the team to cut into Chelsea and their lead in the top four. Arsenal has a number of games this month and that means there are points to be had and they need to get as many as possible. The bottom three of the top four is wide open and while Man City is taking form, they have shown some weakness as well.
Arsenal has QPR after playing against Liverpool and then the team has Southampton before hosting Stoke city at the Emirates. The big test will be on Jan 18 when the team plays Man City and where Arsenal is when that matchup hits the calendar may dictate how the rest of the year is and where they will end up in the standings. Stoke comes in after a loss against Man United and before that they lost to Liverpool and Burley, but their last win was impressive away against Tottenham.
Arsenal is in sixth in the EPL standings and they have six wins and 23 points on the season. The team has a goal differential of seven and they are looking for more, while Alexis Sanchez has been great for the team this season.
