Dec 04, 2014 07:53 PM EST

The Cleveland Cavaliers and NY Knicks are playing live on the NBA schedule on TNT on Thursday and the game is from New York at Madison Square Garden as LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony face off and the matchup is streaming from the NBA.com website and on TNT Overtime as the east rivals square up and it comes as the Cavs are winning the Knicks are not.

The Cavaliers come into the game after a close win against the Bucks and that was a big divisional game actually, as the Bucks were ahead of the Cavs in the standings. The team is now 9-7 and the Bucks are 10-10 and the Cavs are in second in the division and now they are looking to keep the winning going. James comes in leading the team in scoring and the Knicks come in with just four wins and while that's only five fewer than the Cavs, it feels like worlds apart.

The Cavaliers will next play against the Toronto Raptors and that will be on the road and the team comes in ranked in the top 10 in scoring this season. James and company are averaging 103 points per game and they are ranked 17th in scoring defense and will be looking to improve in that area. Kevin Love has gotten into a groove and so has Kyrie Irving and that could be the key to making a deep playoff run this season.

The Knicks have been struggling this season and while they have one win already over the Cavs, that was very early in the year. The team has dealt with injuries and inconsistent play on defense and so far the triangle has been hard to get a hang of. The team comes in after a loss to the Nets and they are currently fourth in the Atlantic division and they are not that much better than the lowly Sixers right now.

The Knicks next play against the Hornets and they come in after losing by five at MSG to the Nets. Carmelo had 20 points in that game and Amar'e added nine rebounds, while Jose Calderon led the way with seven assists. The team comes in ranked 27th in scoring and they are 11th in points allowed and now they are facing off against the Cavs ahead of a matchup with the Charlotte Hornets, who have also been struggling quite a bit this season. James and the Cavs are title favorites this season, but so far they have not quite come together, but things are going well after a slow start now.

Kevin Love is leading the Cavs in rebounding and James comes in averaging 24 points and seven assists, while Anthony is averaging nearly 24 points per contest. The Cavs have won four in a row and are looking good and they will play four of the next five on the road, including tough games against the Raptors, Nets and Thunder after playing the Knicks. The team has a home and home with the Raptors and they will be looking to get some revenge after losing badly against the team earlier in the season.
