The Louisville Cardinals and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are playing on the NBC college football schedule on Saturday and the game from Notre Dame Stadium starts up past 3:30 pm ET as ND hosts the 24th ranked team in the nation and both schools are 7-3 this year heading into the matchup.
Notre Dame comes in after a close loss against Northwestern and they will next play a rivalry game on the road against USC after matching up with the Cardinals. Notre Dame comes in after getting nearly 300 yards passing from Everett Golson in the loss to the Wildcats and they currently rank in the top 15 in the nation in passing. The Irish also are ranked 27th in scoring this year on offense and they are allowing just under 30 points per game.
Notre Dame opened the season with six straight wins before losing to Florida State and they nearly pulled out that game but lost at the end. The team has now lost three of four overall since opening 6-0 and the last matchup they had went to overtime with Northwestern. The team now plays against ranked teams in back to back games with Louisville and USC and they have lost two straight games while giving up a ton of points.
There have been cracks in the armor for Notre Dame all season, as they gave up 43 points in a win against UNC and over the past three games they have given up 43 or more points in each contest. The team won games over Stanford and Michigan this season, while their "best" losses are against Arizona State and Florida State.
