The Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers are playing live on the NBA season schedule on Friday and the matchup starts at 7:30 pm ET from Quicken Loans Arena and it comes after a close win for LeBron James against the Boston Celtics and now the Cavs host the Hawks in Ohio.
LeBron scored 41 points in the matchup against the Celtics and that was the first time back in Boston since re-joining the Cavaliers for his second stint. James also added seven assists and Kevin Love had 15 rebounds to lead the team. The Cavaliers are 4-3 on the season now after getting off to a slow start and the Denver Nuggets are next on the schedule for the team.
The team is second in the central division behind the Bulls to start the season and while the team had some trouble with chemistry early on, they are getting better and better each week. The team is now sixth in the nation in scoring and they are 25th in scoring defense and that should improve as the year goes on. The Hawks come into the game second in the southeast division and they come in after a win against the Miami Heat.
The Hawks saw Paul Millsap score 19 points and grab nine rebounds, while Jeff Teague had nine assists on the season. The Hawks have the Lakers next on the schedule and they come into the game ranked second in the league in assists per game and they are in the top half of the league in points per game this year. The Cavaliers defense has been giving up a ton of points over the last six games and they will be looking to improve moving forward with James and Kyrie Irving.
James averaged over 30 points against Atlanta over three games last season and the last time Cleveland played Atlanta at home Irving added 40 points. The Hawks are just 1-3 on the road this season, while the Cavaliers are 1-1 in two home games, losing to the Knicks for their opening night. The Hawks have not had a road win streak this season and the Cavaliers are looking to start a streak at home since James came back.
