The New York Giants are in need of something to give their team an added boost. Currently struggling to maintain a hold on postseason contention, the Giants are coming off another disappointing showing against the Seattle Seahawks. Things are not going to get easier for New York either as they prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. While Odell Beckham Jr is proving to be a real offensive threat, the run game is leaving a lot to be desired, but that could change this week.

According to head coach Tom Coughlin, Rashad Jennings will be returning to the lineup as the starting rusher. Jennings was signed in free agency and was certainly proving his worth at the start of the year, but a knee injury knocked him out for four games. The Giants certainly missed his dynamic abilities, but the running back is preparing to make a big return, something that could give the offensive an added boost.

"I think he will [return]," Coughlin said, via NJ.com. "I'm hoping that he will. He did have a good week of practice last week for what we asked him to do. He had a weekend to continue to rehab and strengthen, so he has worked hard at that. I am going to say that we certainly do expect that he will be ready at the end of this week, but who knows?"

In Jennings place, rookie Andre Williams has been attempting to hold down the ground game. Williams has been averaging just 2.7 yards per carry as a starter which is simply not enough. To make matters worse, Peyton Hillis and Michael Cox were both lost to injuries against the Seahawks and are unlikely to take the field in the coming week. That leaves Williams as the lone back if Jennings is still unhealthy.

One bright note for the Giants has been the quick rise of Beckham Jr. The rookie wide receiver has answered the challenge of replacing Victor Cruz and is earning rave reviews doing so. Beckham Jr's season got off to a slow start after a hamstring injury delay his debut on the field. However, he has emerged as the No. 1 target for Eli Manning and the one piece keeping the offense moving. Jennings could help the effort if available.
