Liverpool and Chelsea are playing live on the Barclays English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the match is from Anfield at 7:45 am ET on NBC Sports Network and the NBCSN Live Extra website as the EPL clubs clash with Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers leading the way as John Terry, Raheem Sterling and Diego Costa get in action.

Chelsea and Liverpool will play again in May and the Blues come into the weekend at first place in the English Premier League standings and they are clear of Southampton and Manchester City. Chelsea has been in first place since the start of the season and they have been the best club so far and have been the highest scoring team in the EPL. Chelsea had Champions League play this week and so did Liverpool and they matches up with Maribor and pulled a draw and now they have Liverpool before the next UCL match with Schalke.

Liverpool is seventh on the Premier League table and they come in after a loss against Real Madrid in Champions League play. Rodgers sat many of his players, including Daniel Sturridge and many had words about that move and the team ended up losing 1-0 at Anfield. Rodgers defended his decision and now the team will have their top names for the matchup with Chelsea. The team comes in after playing Newcastle last and they have Man United and Arsenal coming up on the schedule, with the Man Utd trip to Old Trafford coming first.

Chelsea is playing much better than Liverpool right now and the Reds come in after a 1-0 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League, while the Blues last pulled a draw with Maribor. These two teams will play again on the EPL schedule in May and that will be at Stamford Bridge after this matchup at Anfield. Liverpool has been hit with some criticism for sitting players during the week and now captain Steven Gerrard is set to start against Chelsea.

Daniel Sturridge is out and Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Mario Balotelli could be in after the loss during the week. Chelsea comes in with Diego Costa, Oscar, Gary Cahill and Thibaut Courtois ready to come back for Jose Mourinho and this is big for Chelsea as they try and stay in first place in the EPL standings. Chelsea has been the best team in the EPL this year and they will be looking for another win on Saturday.

Chelsea has lost just one of the last six games across league and cup games and now they are looking to win back to back games at Anfield for the second time ever in team history. Liverpool has two wins in the last seven league games and they have been scuffling a bit and a win here would be big for the club. The team is six points back from where they were last season and they have not been scoring nearly as much as they did last season with Luis Suarez at Anfield.
