The Chicago Bulls season opener schedule picks up on Wednesday against the NY Knicks for their first NBA game of the season and Derrick Rose will be returning to action after being injured all last year and this game will be on TV from ESPN and starts up at 8 pm ET from Madison Square Garden and the game date is October 29 for the matchup.

The Bulls come into the season after winning 48 games last year and that came after the team lost Derrick Rose to his second season ending injury in as many seasons. The team now has two tough games to start the season, playing against the Knicks on the road at the Garden before a home matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game against LeBron and the Cavs is the home opener and that will be on Friday from the United Center.

The Bulls are looking to make a title run this season and if Derrick Rose stays healthy, they should be the favorites in the east along with the Cavaliers. The team has a very tough division with the Cavs and the Pacers, but it's Chicago and Cleveland looking to make it to the end. LeBron James has praised the Bulls and the moves they have made and with Pau Gasol in the fold, the team could end up being very good.

The Bulls will have a new leading scorer this season with Luol Deng gone and they hope Rose is that player, as that would mean he is healthy for the season. The team has a tough start to the year and they have the Knicks before playing against the Cavaliers and that is the season opener for the Cavs. The Bulls likely will be cautious with Rose to start the season and that is the smart way to play things, as they have made moves to help give him support.

The team has a foundation with Rose, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson as well as Jimmy Butler and now they have added Pau Gasol, Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott to the mix to help along. Gasol is a huge upgrade over Carlos Boozer and his experience in the past will be huge for the Bulls, while McDermott could end up being a great offensive threat. The Bulls have been picked by many as the sleeper in the east, as they have not gotten the pub that the Cavs had this summer.

The Bulls feel they have a championship run in them and the Knicks are the first team on the schedule and this game will be on ESPN starting up at 8 p.m. ET and also on the WatchESPN website from Madison Square Garden in New York.
