The Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns are playing live on the NFL schedule on Sunday and the week 8 game is on from CBS at FirstEnergy Stadium starting up at 4:25 pm ET and the matchup has the Browns looking to bounce back from a loss, while the Raiders are looking for their first win of the season.
Cleveland had been looking good coming into last week's game and that ended up a very disappointing loss to Jacksonville, giving the Jaguars their first win of the season. Brian Hoyer still is starting over Johnny Manziel despite his bad game last week and the Browns may look at making a move if the team loses two weeks in a row to a winless team.
The Raiders have been a mess, but in their last two games they have at least looked better than while they haven't resulted in wins, the team has some potential. Oakland could be a spoiler down the stretch for teams and Derek Carr looks like he has some talent and that could be huge for the franchise moving forward.
The Raiders basically haven't had a real answer at quarterback since Rich Gannon and if Carr can be the real deal, the franchise at least has something to build on in Oakland. Darren McFadden has not been amazing, but he has at least stayed healthy this season and that is more than he can say for the rest of his career.
The Browns have been getting some solid play from Ben Tate after signing him in the offseason and he has taken over as the starting back again after being injured earlier in the season. The Browns will welcome back Josh Gordon later this season and that will be a major boost got Manziel or Hoyer at quarterback.
The Raiders are looking for their first win on the road and getting a game against the Browns would be big for the first victory of the season. The team has the Broncos, Chargers and Chiefs in the division and they all made the playoffs last season, so the hope for the Raiders is basically nonexistent this season.
