The BYU Cougars and UCF Knights are playing live on the ESPN college football schedule on Thursday and the game is hosted by Central Florida from Bright House Networks Stadium as Brigham Young comes to town and the matchup starts at 7:30 pm ET and comes after the team lost Taysom Hill for the season after a fractured leg and now they will try and hold together.

The Cougars had a Heisman candidate in Hill after the team opened 4-0 and now he is done for the season after fracturing his leg against the Utah State Aggies. The team now has a tough Hill to climb without Hill in the lineup and he was leading the team with nearly 1000 passing yards and seven scores to go along with 460 rushing yards and eight touchdowns already. Hill was well on his way to a fantastic season and now all of that is derailed.

The team comes in ranked in the top 35 in rushing yards per game and they are 71st in the nation in passing yards with over 220 per contest. The team is right near the 50 for both points allowed and points against in ranks in the nation and they have a tough stretch on the schedule coming up. The team has UCF on the road and then comes back to play Nevada at home and they have three of the next four games on the road and those will be tough.

The team then hits the road against the Boise State Broncos and they are also on the road against Middle Tennessee. As it stands right now the team has no ranked teams on the schedule and with Hill out, they are likely done nationally. The team has UNLV and Savannah State before playing against California in the final game of the season and that well be a final chance to make an impression for a bowl game for the Cougars.

UCF comes into the matchup at 2-2 on the season and Justin Holman has been leading the way at quarterback and he has the lead in passing yards for the team. The defense has been strong and that's about it based on ranks, as the team is in 35th in points allowed per game, but they are past the 100s in both passing and rushing yards on offense. The team lost its first two games against Penn State and also against Missouri and they have won the last two, including against Houston last week.

The team now has three at home with BYU, Tulane and Temple and they continue the American Athletic Conference schedule after that. The team has Tulsa and UConn on the schedule before a game against SMU and they are a mess and then the team ends the season on the road. The final two games include South Florida and East Carolina and both will be away from Central Florida.
