Houston Texans Rumors: Arian Foster Fantasy Football Starter Week 6 With Andre Johnson

Oct 09, 2014 11:43 AM EDT

The Houston Texans have Arian Foster probable for the Thursday night for fantasy football owners and he is expected to be full go as the starter along with Andre Johnson, as both players come into the Week 6 matchup a bit banged up and if the RB is healthy, it makes Alfred Blue a bust this week against the Indianapolis Colts, as Foster should get a full load of carries.

Foster has been dealing with a hamstring injury over the past few weeks and while he has missed one game, he looks like he will be a full go on Thursday night. According to Pro Football Talk, Foster is listed as probable for the game and while he was limited in practice this week, it was mainly because of the short turnaround for the game and also because he had a heavy workload last week. Foster had 25 touches against the Cowboys and ended up with 157 yards, his best output this season. Foster has missed one game and apart from a bad matchup in Week 4 with Buffalo, he has over 100 yards in each game started.

Foster opened the season with a 103 yard game against the Redskins before putting up 138 against the Raiders and after missing Week 3, he had just eight carries for six yards against the Bills. Foster made it up with seven catches for 55 yards in that game and last week he was at his best with over 150 yards on 23 carries and he also scored two touchdowns, his first scores since Week 2 of the season. Last year's Foster was injured and missed eight games and now he is trying to get back to where he was in 2012 when he played in all 16 games and had 1411 yards rushing.

Foster came out to rail against Thursday games and at the NFL for making players play in them and while he has shown his displeasure at these quick turnaround games, he could respond with a huge game for fantasy owners. Many fantasy teams often do not like to use players on Thursday because of that quick turnaround and the possibility of falling behind before Sunday's games, but with a player like Foster, a start is all that should be in the cards.

Foster is one of the top backs in the league when healthy and he is a strong starter option for this game. Andre Johnson comes into the week banged up and he is expected to be a full go as well. Johnson is questionable for the game, but he is expected to play anyway and while he has zero scores this season, he has 27 catches for 320 yards. Johnson did not practice this week, but that's likely since it's a Thursday game.

Alfred Blue is a bus this week, but moving forward he is still an option since Foster has a hamstring injury and those can linger. Blue has been solid with 143 yards this season and he had his best game against the Giants with 78 yards while starting for Foster.
