The NY Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks are playing on the NHL preseason schedule on Friday and the matchup is live from Madison Square Garden in New York starting up at 7 pm ET and it comes as the regular season is starting up next week after NYR won the eastern conference title last season.
The Rangers come into the game after losing in their last matchup with the Flyers and they are heading into another game on Saturday against the Devils. The team has played Chicago already in the preseason and won that game and now they are playing again. The Blackhawks made it into the west finals last season before losing to the Kings and the Rangers sure wish they played Chicago, because at least that would have been a series.
The Rangers made a surprising run to the playoffs and Stanley Cup, but the refs were biased completely against the Rangers for some reason and every call went LA's way. The team obviously ended up winning after getting all of those calls and now the Rangers are coming back to try and get some respect after going down 3-0 in that series. The Rangers have a number of new faces and players, but they also have Henrik Lundqvist and Martin St. Louis coming back.
The Blackhawks come into the game after losing to the Montreal Canadiens and that was an Original Six matchup and now they are in another one. The team plays against the Dallas Stars on the road after this game and they come in as one of the top teams in the west and could be a favorite to make the finals.
