The ALDS Playoffs Standings has the Kansas City Royals up 1-0 over the Los Angeles Angels after Mike Moustakas hit a home run in the 11th inning and now KC has the advantage in the five game series after winning in LA and that puts pressure on the Angels to bounce back in Game 2 on Friday night.

The Royals have been a resilient team and they won the wild card game in extra innings over the Athletics on a walk off hit and now they have done it again, winning with a home run in the 11th inning. The Angels couldn't tie up the game in the bottom of the inning and the Royals bullpen shutdown LA with Danny Duffy and Wade Davis pitching very well and now Kansas City has some major momentum moving forward in the series.

The winner of Game 1 gets a big advantage in five game series and now the Royals have the chance to keep things going and even if they don't they can still close it out in KC. Mike Trout got his first playoff action and had a walk and went 0 for 4 in his debut and now he will be looking to bounce back in the next matchup. Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton and Trout went 0-13 in the game and that was a big difference for the Angels and now Kansas City has the chance to steal another game in LA.

The scoring did not get started until the third inning and that saw the Royals take a 1-0 after Moustakas scored, but the Angels quickly came back. Chris Iannetta tied the game with a home run in the inning before the Royals came back in the fifth and that saw Omar Infante hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Alex Gordon and that gave the Royals the lead. Things did not last long, as David Freese ended up hitting a solo home run and that ended the scoring during the regular part of the game before it went into extras.

The Royals hung tight with the Angels and the bullpens were fantastic with Duffy coming in and shutting down the top part of the Angels lineup. Trout grounded out in the 10th inning and Albert Pujols couldn't get anything done and that led to the heroics from Moustakas. The Angels gave up a homer to Moustakas off of Fernando Salas and now they are down 1-0 in the series. Greg Holland came into the game and got the Angels out, but not after a hit that put the tying run on base. Holland finished with a Josh Hamilton popup.
