The MLB Playoffs Standings have the ALDS ready to start in the postseason with the Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, LA Angels and Kansas City Royals for Game 1 and now the American League and National League series are set after the Giants won the wild card and the first matchup starts in the early evening in Los Angeles.

The first matchup has the Tigers and the Orioles and that will be in Baltimore for the ALDS after the O's won the AL East. The Tigers held off the Royals in the AL Central and now Max Scherzer and Chris Tillman will matchup in the first game of this series. The Orioles were one of the best teams in the AL this season and they can mash with anyone and they have Adam Jones as their star player.

The Tigers have a stacked rotation and a stacked lineup and if they get hot they could be the World Series favorites. The team comes in after winning the AL Central title again and they have Miguel Cabrera swinging a hot bat. The team has the advantage in the rotation, as they have Scherzer along with Justin Verlander and David Price. The Orioles have the series at home and they are back in the playoffs after missing out last season.

The second game on Thursday has the Kansas City Royals visiting the LA Angels and that comes after the amazing come back for KC against the Athletics. The wild card game was wild and saw the Royals defeat the A's in walk off fashion and now they are trying to upset the Angels. The Angels come into the game after winning the AL West and they also were one of the best teams in baseball. The team has Mike Trout and Albert Pujols and they will have Jered Weaver on the mound against Jason Vargas in the matchup.

The Royals won the first wild card and then took the game at Kauffman, while the Angels stormed ahead of the A's in the division during the Oakland slump. The team won the division by double digits and now they are looking to move on in the playoffs and this is the first taste of the postseason for Trout. The next game has Matt Shoemaker against Ventura for the Royals, while Justin Verlander will pitch the next game for the Tigers.

The playoffs for the ALDS start up on Thursday and the Friday schedule has four games with the NLDS also starting. The Giants killed the Pirates and now they play against the Nationals, while the first game between the Dodgers and Cardinals in LA is also on Friday. Clayton Kershaw will be pitching that game against Adam Wainwright and that could be the best matchup of the first round of the playoffs.
