Defensive end Jason Ankrah #9 and linebacker Will Compton #51 of the Nebraska Cornhuskers wraps up running back Melvin Gordon #25 of the Wisconsin Badgers during their game at Memorial Stadium on September 29, 2012 in Lincoln, Nebraska. "

The Wisconsin Badgers and South Florida Bulls are playing live on the college football schedule on ESPNU on Saturday and the game is streaming on WatchESPN from Camp Randall Stadium at 12 pm ET as the Big Ten team tries to win its third straight game after losing to LSU and they are coming off of a record performance with Melvin Gordon and the running game.

The Badgers come into the game after a massive win against Bowling Green and that saw a record amount of yardage on the ground and for Gordon and they are now 2-1 on the season. The team opened with a tough loss to LSU and they have now allowed 20 points in the last two games while scoring over 100 in that span and now they are about to play against South Florida before starting the Big Ten schedule.

Gordon had an amazing and record setting day for Wisconsin and the Badger overall put up video game numbers and Gordon ended up with over 250 yards on the ground. Gordon had five touchdowns in the game and the Badger ended up with a record 644 yards on the ground and the team just simply was unstoppable against Bowling Green. Funny enough for Gordon, he fumbled on his first carry and that clearly motivated him to have a strong day and now they play against South Florida ahead of the conference schedule.

The team now ranks first in the nation in rushing yards with over 350 per game through three contests and they have a strong stretch of games coming up. The team have five of their first six games at home to start the season and after playing against the Bulls, the team has Northwestern and Illinois before playing against Maryland. The Badgers then have three games in four weeks on the road with Rutgers and Purdue, while Nebraska is the home game. Iowa is next on the road and then the team ends the season against Minnesota.

The Badgers are ranked in the top 20 and if they want to get in the playoff mix, they will likely have to win out and the toughest matchup ahead is against Nebraska and that luckily will be at Randall. The back end of the season is manageable for the team and after losing to LSU, which in a way is a quality loss and there are a number of single loss teams, the Badgers could step up. The team avoids Michigan State and Ohio State this season on the schedule and that is huge if the Badgers want to make it.
