Prince Fielder has won the 2012 Home Run Derby, making him the first player ever to win the competition as a member of both the American and National Leagues.
Fielder blasted 12 shots to defeat the regular season leader, Jose Bautista, who only managed 7.
In the Final round, Fielder had 8 home runs with only 1 out.
Fielder was the last player to get into the second round after hitting just 5 home runs in the first. He then hit 11 in the second round to qualify for the Final round.
Jose Bautista had to go into a swing off against Angels' Mark Trumbo.
Both sluggers combined for 13 homers in the first and second rounds. Bautista won with his first two cuts in the swing off. Trumbo managed to hit just one.
A surprising moment in the Derby came when Robinson Cano stepped up to the plate.
He was booed by the fans and had airplanes with messages attached to them ridiculing him for overlooking Kansas City Royals' All-Star, Billy Butler.
To Cano's credit, the three guys he picked were in contention for the Final.
Cano hit 0 home runs and seemed to have been distracted by fans, despite not admitting to it.
In the end, the National league was out hit by more than 40 home runs. So Cano did a great job ensuring the trophy stayed in the American League.
The competiton that matters will take place tomorrow at 8 p.m. as the National League and American League will clash in the 2012 All-Star Game.
