Sep 07, 2014 12:45 PM EDT

The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins are playing live on the NFL schedule for an AFC East game in Week 1 and Tom Brady starts off at 1 pm ET on CBS from Sun Life Stadium as the season kicks off with a huge slate of games.

The Patriots and Dolphins are looking to start with wins this season and the Patriots are the division favorites and once again Brady will be looking for Rob Gronkowski to stay healthy this year. New England has the chance to be the AFC winner this year and as long as they stay healthy they can be the favorite and after playing the Dolphins they have a matchup with the Vikings and that will be on the road.

The Patriots went 12-4 last season and they won the division again and they have an early schedule with a number of games on the road and they have some tough matchups. The Pats play against the Dolphins on the road and that has three of four on the road with Minnesota coming next. The team has the Oakland Raiders at home and then they will play on the road on Monday night football against the Chiefs at Arrowhead, always a very tough place to play.

Brady had over 4000 yards last season and now the team has a very tough schedule to manage in the first half, with a number of playoff teams on the calendar. The team has the Chiefs and then the Bengals at home as two back to back teams from the postseason and they have the Bills after that on the road. The Patriots head into the bye week with the Jets on Thursday night, the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos at home and then they come out of the bye with a tough slate.

The team plays the Colts on the road in Indy and then are home against the Lions before matchups on the road with the Packers and the Chargers.
