Sep 05, 2014 10:19 PM EDT

The Washington State Cougars and Nevada Wolfpack are playing live on the ESPN college football schedule and the game starts at 10:30 pm ET and is streaming live from WatchESPN at Mackay Stadium as the Pac-12 and Mountain West school face off on Friday night.

The Cougars come into the game after losing their opening game against Rutgers and they are 0-1 despite getting 535 yards passing from Connor Halliday and five touchdowns. That game was a shootout for the first weekend of the season and now Washington State has this game before an easy matchup with Portland State and that will be back home at Martin Stadium next weekend. The team is ranked second in the nation in passing yards through the first game and now the Cougars have to show if they can play a bit of defense

Vince Mayle had 12 receptions for 124 yards and one touchdown in the game for the Cougars and now he has the chance to shine again. The team has a tough schedule coming up after the Portland State game, as that has the Pac-12 schedule picking up and it includes number three Oregon and that will be at home. The Ducks matchup is the highest ranked team the Cougars will face this season and then the team has a road matchup with Utah. The team then has two of three games on the road with Utah and Stanford away while playing California at home. The matchup with Stanford is a Friday night Pac-12 game and that will be on ESPN and the Cardinal come in as a ranked team and favorite in the conference again.

The back end of the schedule is very tough for the Cougars and they have road games against ranked teams down the stretch and they also have games against USC and their rival Washington. The team has Arizona after Stanford and then they play against USC and they are looking good this season, while the two road games after that are Oregon State and Arizona State. The game against Washington closes the season and that game will be at home this year.

Nevada comes into the tournament after winning over Southern Utah and they will face off with Arizona after playing against Washington State. The game against the Wildcats is a late one next week and the team has two straight road games with Arizona and San Jose State before playing Boise State at home. The game has BYU and Hawaii are the next games on the road and they have three of four away with San Diego State and then the team finishes with Air Force, Fresno State and UNLV.
