Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard Refutes LA Galaxy Reports; Pledges Future to Chelsea

Jul 09, 2012 03:28 AM EDT

Frank Lampard rubbished reports of a move to Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy, saying he sees his future at Chelsea.

The 34-year-old, who found form after Roberto Di Matteo took control, has just a year remaining on his contract and was reportedly looking at a new challenge. Lampard was also linked with a move to China.

The England midfielder and his agent Steve Kutner were pictured in LA watching a Galaxy game with David Beckham, further fuelling speculation the veteran could be on his way to Los Angeles.

"There's nothing in that at all," Lampard told The Sun.

"I'm here in Los Angeles on holiday with (fiancée) Christine (Bleakely).

"We got engaged here last year and we love it over here.

"Steve's over here a lot on music and football business. He organised a box so we could go to see the Galaxy game.

"Becks was suspended for the match, so he came and sat with us and we had a good laugh -- that's all."

Lampard, who was ruled out of Euro 2012 due to injury, said he was looking forward to getting back to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to defend their Champions League crown and challenge for the English Premier League title.

"Now I'm really looking forward to getting back to Chelsea," Lampard said.

"I'm feeling fit and fresh and I'm raring to go.

"My thigh strain is completely healed now and maybe missing the Euros was a blessing in disguise for me.

"I had a full summer off and I'm ready to go back to start the hard work for the new season."
