Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Gar Forman introduce newly-signed free agent Pau Gasol during a press conference at the United Center on July 18, 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. "

The Chicago Bulls looked at a trade with Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott for Kevin Love before the Cavaliers won out and now the team may look at the free agent market for more support for Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose and some names in free agency still on the market include Andray Blatche, Ramon Sessions, Greg Oden and Andrew Bynum.

The Bulls are coming into the season with high expectations with Derrick Rose coming back healthy and that could be what pushes the team over the top in the east. According to ESPN.com and Pro Basketball Talk, Blatche could be a target for the team to help give some depth up front, while Ramon Sessions is also on the market but is unlikely to sign. The Bulls have made some very good moves this offseason, including signing Pau Gasol and that could be the best move of the year not involving anyone named LeBron.

The Bulls have a tough road to get through in the central division with the Cavaliers and Pacers and that could make for some exciting basketball all season. Rose staying healthy is key, but the Bulls should be very good, as they have added Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic as two experienced rookies, while they also brought in Gasol and Aaron Brooks, who will be an upgrade over DJ Augustin as the backup for Rose.

Having Gasol could be a game changer, as the Bulls were still pretty good minus Rose with Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Carlos Boozer and now they are adding Gasol for Boozer, which is a massive upgrade. Boozer actually had pretty decent numbers based on how many minutes he played last season, but he was making over $15 million and was a liability in the fourth quarter, making most of that negligible. The team had no choice but to use the amnesty clause on him and now Gasol comes in and should be an upgrade over Boozer on both sides of the floor.

Gasol is 34 years old, but he still can produce and he has shown in the past that he is a winner and his championship experience could be huge for the Bulls. Brooks is a solid addition as well and he put up decent numbers last season while playing for the Nuggets and Rockets, averaging 9.0 points and 3.2 assists and now he could be a key player for this team off the bench.
