The Kevin Love trade looks all but set between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves and later in August the deal should go through with Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett and there also is a chance that the teams bring in a third with the Philadelphia 76ers and they could look at moving Thaddeus Young if it turns into a three team deal.

ESPN.com and other outlets report that the deal is basically done and that it will go down once the August 23 deadline hits and that is when Wiggins can be traded. Yahoo Sports and Pro Basketball Talk report that Thaddeus Young also could be part of the deal if it becomes a three team trade, but that is still just speculation at this point. The Wolves wanted Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors, but the team refused to put him in the deal and they have settled on the Cavs after the Chicago Bulls also made a late push.

Love is coming off of his best season in the NBA and he averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds last year while playing for a bad team. The Wolves felt they had no choice but to make a trade and that was due to the fact that Love said he wanted to test the market and that meant he would be leaving Minnesota. The Wolves actually did a pretty good job of getting value for Love, as the deals for the Magic and the Nuggets for Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony did not have players with the potential of Wiggins.

Love had the chance to opt out of his contract this summer and he was almost guaranteed to do that once the season was over. Minnesota knew this and felt they had to trade Love and now the Cleveland Cavaliers have one of the best forwards in the league and they have the top trio with Love, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. There are also reports from Yahoo that say Kevin Love will sign for five years, $120 million after opting out next summer, but that could be against the NBA rules and that is why it likely will not be on paper and no one will actually admit that it's happening.

Love gives the Cavaliers a prime forward to play with James and now the team is really coming together. The Cavaliers are looking at adding Ray Allen and Shawn Marion and they have already signed James Jones and Mike Miller and they likely are the favorites in the east and for the NBA title. James came to Cleveland and he pushed the team to make a move for Love and now the Cavaliers have pulled it off.
