The Pittsburgh Steelers and NY Giants are playing live on the NFL schedule for the preseason in Week 1 and the game is live online and from NBC streaming on NFL.com at 7:30 pm ET and has the team in their second game after the Hall of Fame matchup and this has Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger facing off at MetLife Stadium and both these teams are looking to make the playoffs this year.
The Giants started last season 0-6 and now they are looking to have a bounce back year after finishing 7-9 and the team is looking for Eli Manning to have a good year after throwing 27 interceptions last season. The Giants now have a new offense with Ben McAdoo and the team also made a number of free agent signings, including Rashad Jennings and Geoff Schwartz on offense and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on defense and they feel that the team is much stronger this season after the way things went last year.
The Giants lost David Wilson to a neck injury and retirement, but they prepared for this and signed Jennings and brought back Peyton Hillis while also drafting Andre Williams in the draft in the fourth round. Odell Beckham is likely going to take some time to get adjusted, as he has a hamstring injury, but the team is also excited about what he can do and the team also added Quintin Demps and Trindon Holliday to give the team a better special teams attack for returning kicks.
Manning and Ben Roethlisberger were taken in the same draft class and the Giants were high on Big Ben as well and he would have been the pick if the team didn't get the chance to get Manning. Eli had his worst season with over 25 picks last season and now he is looking to have a much more efficient season with McAdoo and the new offense and the team has a short passing game as part of their west coast offense and that should help with Manning's completion percentage.
The Giants were ranked 29th in the league in rushing yards per game last season and adding Jennings will help that, although Wilson and his loss will be tough for the offense. The team played much better on defense than the season before and they expect Jason Pierre-Paul to be back to where he was a couple years ago and adding to the secondary should help everyone. The Steelers nearly made the playoffs last season and they will be looking to get off to a fast start this year once the schedule picks up.
The Giants opened with a win over the Buffalo Bills and now they will play against the Steelers before matching up with the Cols. The team plays against the New York Jets and New England Patriots in the preseason and then the team plays against the Detroit Lions to start the regular season on Monday night football.
