The Phoenix Suns may look at a Goran Dragic trade at some point this season and it comes after the team signed Isaiah Thomas in free agency and drafted Tyler Ennis in the first round and with Eric Bledsoe up in the air there is a chance some teams look to the Suns for a point guard and they could be tempted if a franchise dangles a first round pick for the young player.

According to ESPN.com, Marc Stein writes that the Pacers would be thrilled if they could pull off a Dragic trade and while that news was from before Paul George's injury, it could be even more likely now that he is out. The Suns are not shopping Dragic and they don't want to trade him, but if the Pacers offer a draft pick or something else valuable, the team could consider making the move says Stein. The Pacers have wanted to upgrade over George Hill even before the injury to George and now with the free agent class down to the bottom of the barrel, this could be their best shot.

The Suns are coming into the season with a glut of guards and Dragic is one of them and the team may not want to move him since they are still negotiating with Eric Bledsoe. The team wants to bring back Bledsoe and they are looking to match any offer he gets on the market, but the two sides are far apart now and keeping Dragic gives the team leverage. The team could afford to move Dragic, as they drafted Tyler Ennis and they also signed Isaiah Thomas as restricted free agent and they feel that those players can step up if needed.

Dragic is coming off of a career year and so is Thomas and Dragic won the most improved player award last season and he also led the team in scoring and assists. Dragic averaged over 20 points with nearly six assists and he is a key player for the team, but if they bring back Bledsoe they can afford to move him and with Thomas also in the fold, the Suns still should be able to challenge for a playoff spot in the west.

Last season the Suns were one of the most surprising teams in the league and they nearly made the eighth playoff spot while winning 48 games. The team would have been right in the middle of the east if they played in that conference and they would have been in the playoffs. Instead the team ended up in the lottery and while they got a solid draft pick out of it, they will be looking to get into the top half of the west this year.
