The MLB Standings in the AL and NL heading into the end of the July 2014 schedule has the division leaders in the Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers and San Francisco Giants, while the wild card leaders in the American League and National League are the Seattle Mariners, LA Angels, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The AL East is close with the Orioles leading the Yankees and the Blue Jays, while the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox are next in the standings. The AL Central has the Tigers running away over the Royals and the Indians, while the White Sox and the Twins are at the bottom. The AL West has the Oakland Athletics and the LA Angels battling and the Mariners are in third ahead of the Astros and Rangers.

The NL East is a battle between the Nationals and the Atlanta Braves duking it out, while the Mets and Marlins are next. The NL Central has gotten much closer after the Brewers opened big and now the Reds, Cards and Pirates are closing in. The West is a two team race with the Giants and Dodgers with double digit leads over the Padres.

The American League wild card has the Angels in the lead for the first spot by a nice chunk, while the Seattle Mariners are hanging onto the second spot heading into the post-all star break schedule. The team has not made the playoffs in a decade and they are fighting with the Royals, Blue Jays Yankees and Indians in the standings. The National League will be a fight to the end with the Dodgers and Giants battling in the west, while the Cardinals, Pirates and Reds are chasing the Brewers and one of those teams could clinch one of the spots.
