Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend and fiance Shayanna Jenkins has been accused of lying to the grand jury in the case involving the murder of Odin Lloyd and now according to ESPN.com, the prosecution says it has direct evidence in the case linking her to making false statements when she was called to the grand jury, which stemmed from questions about her disposing a box that may have had ate murder weapon in it.

The Aaron Hernandez murder case involving Odin Lloyd has taken some twists and turns and now Jenkins is a key part of things, as she has been accused of perjury in the case and lying to the grand jury about what she did with a particular box. According to ESPN.com, lawyers for the state say they have "direct" evidence that Jenkins lied and that could be damning for her and for Hernandez, who is being accused of first degree murder in that case and has pled not guilty.

The report says that Jenkins claimed that she did not remember where she disposed of a box that authorities believe had items tied to the murder of Lloyd. Jenkins was seen on surveillance video leaving the home she shared with Hernandez the day after the murder and in a large bad, a rigid box could be seen in the outline. Jenkins claimed that she did not remember where she disposed of the bag and said she did not try to conceal anything.

Jenkins is trying to have the charges dismissed, but this new news is tough for her to overcome if it's true. Hernandez can still be found guilty of murder without the murder weapon being found, but it would be a huge discovery if the gun was discovered. Hernandez is also facing murder charges stemming from a drive by shooting from the year before the Lloyd murder and now he is awaiting trial on both.

Hernandez is set to go to trial with a preliminary date in the fall for Lloyd and then in May of 2015 for the double murder. Jenkins and Hernandez are connected to Lloyd through Jenkins, as her sister was dating the murder victim at the time of his death. Hernandez was arrested last year for the murder and after that happened, it came to light that he may have been connected to two more murders. The Patriots are in a money dispute with Hernandez and he now is in jail working on his defense in these cases.
