Mike Minor has hit a rough patch in the season along with the Atlanta Braves' offense. The pitcher is in the middle of his longest winning drought of his career, having not won a game in his last five starts. However, the Braves are not helping him out at the plate as the bats prove streaky in the summer. Now they look to get a win against the Chicago Subs who beat them in the first game of the series.

Minor is 0-3 with a 4.86 ERA in nine starts since May 19. He bounced back against the New York Mets in his last start, giving up just two runs and two hits, but the Braves failed to get him any runs for the win. Against Chicago, Minor has a 3.56 ERA in five starts against the National League team. He has 37 strikeouts in those games while getting 9.49 runs of support a game. The Braves would love to duplicate those numbers after failing to get the win on Friday.

The Braves are facing Edwin Jackson, a pitcher many of the Braves' bats have excelled against. The pitcher is 0-3 with a 3.96 ERA against Atlanta. Most recently, he gave up three runs in six innings in May. Jackson does play well at home. His 3.86 ERA at Wrigley is far better than his 6.05 ERA on the road, the National League's worst.

Atlanta swept Chicago when they played them at home during a nine-game win streak. They totaled 15 runs and no home runs in their recent stretch that has seen Atlanta lose five of their last six games. Chicago gave up a one-run lead on Friday to tie things up. However, Justin Ruggiano hit the game-winning single to put the game away. Meanwhile, Jordan Schafer did manage three stolen bases which was the lone highlight of the Braves' offense.
