MLB Standings 2014 AL and NL: Division Leaders and Wild Card Records Into All-Star Break

Jul 12, 2014 01:41 AM EDT

The MLB standings heading into the 2014 All-Star break has AL and NL division leaders in the Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers and LA Dodgers, while the American League and National League wild card teams are the Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.

The AL East has the Baltimore Orioles leading the Blue Jays and the Yankees, while the Central has the Detroit Tigers with a big lead over the Kansas City Royals. The Oakland A's have a three game lead over the Angels, while the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves are tied in the NL East. The NL Central has the Milwaukee Brewers losing ground after dropping six straight, as they are one game up on the Cardinals, while the Dodgers and Giants are battling in the NL West.

The American League wild card has the Los Angeles Angels in the lead by five games over the Seattle Mariners and that means if the season ended today, three AL West teams would be in the playoffs. The Mariners have been the most surprising team in the American League this season and they are over .500 this late in the season for the first time in years and they are playing some solid baseball under Lloyd McClendon. Robinson Cano had the winning RBI against the Oakland A's on Friday night and that was in support of Felix Hernandez, who got his 11th win of the season.

The Al Wild Card has a bunch of teams in the mix, including the Toronto Blue Jays, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees. The National League has a number of teams in the mix, including the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates.
