Jul 10, 2014 03:59 PM EDT

The Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox are playing live on the MLB schedule on Thursday afternoon and the game from Fenway Park has Jose Quintana and Jon Lester matchup up and the game starts up with a live stream online at 4:04 pm ET for this AL matchup.

The Red Sox had lost four games in a row before turning it around and now they are looking for Lester to keep that going and he needs to pitch well, as the team is getting close to getting out of playoff contention completely. They basically are already, but the team is still alive because no one has run away with the second wild card or even the AL East yet. The team is chasing the Blue Jays, Yankees and Orioles, but New York has been devastated by injuries and the other teams have not padded the lead too much.

The Red Sox could now be the first team at the bottom of their division after the All-Star break after winning a World Series if they don't get back on the winning side of things and now they matchup with one of the best pitchers for the White Sox as this four game series ends. The Red Sox have not been hitting at all and Stephen Drew has not done much since getting signed and now the team is trying to bounce back after going 40-51 during the first half of the season. Brock Holt helped power the team to a win and he had his first walk off and the team looks like it is willing to let young players play and prove themselves despite losing this season.

The Red Sox don't want to panic, but last season's win in the World Series is starting to look more like an aberration rather than the norm. The team had their historic collapse before finishing with their worst record in years under Bobby Valentine and then the team won last season and now they are back in the bottom of the division and struggling hard. Lester has pitched well of late and he has gone 3-0 over his last five starts and now he will need to try and do that again for the team, as he is 0-2 in three starts at Fenway against the White Sox.

The team is currently fifth in the east and the White Sox are also struggling and now these teams will try and get the win in the final game. The Red sox open next against the Astros on the road and that will be John Lackey against Scott Feldman. The team is ranked 27th in runs this season and 24th in batting average and it has been a real struggle on offense.
