The United States and Portugal are playing on the World Cup 2014 schedule on Sunday in a Group G matchup in Manaus at the Arena Amazonia at 6 pm ET and it will be on TV from ESPN and online with a live stream from WatchESPN and it's a crucial matchup for Cristiano Ronaldo and the American side.

The United States knows that they can advance to the next round of the tournament in the knockout stage with a win and that adds even more pressure for both sides in this game. The US was not given much of a chance by anyone of getting out of the group of death since they had Ghana, Portugal and Germany in the draw, but the team started off with a victory and now they are in position to advance to the round of 16 in Brazil.

Clint Dempsey started off the game ah against Ghana with a goal in the first minute and that gave the United States a huge spark to begin the game. The team did not generate many scoring chances during the game after losing Jozy Altidore to an injury and Ghana took advantage, putting the ball on Tim Howard a number of times before finally scoring late in the match. The US felt like they had three points the entire night and the goal from Ghana potentially could have deflated the team, but the Americans continued to play hard and they were rewarded. Graham Zusi and John Brooks came in as subs and they immediately made an impact, with Zusi taking the corner kick to set up an amazing goal for Brooks that put the team up 2-1 and they held on for a win.

Jurgen Klinsmann has to work a new starting lineup with Altidore out and the German coach is hopeful that he can return after the Portugal match after suffering a hamstring injury in the opening game with Ghana early on. Dempsey's goal was a fantastic display of talent and it gave the United States a lead early in the game, but with Altidore out the team will need to find scoring and playmakers in other places. Aron Johannsson and Chris Wondolowski are the two main players to watch the US needs someone to step up with Altidore out and Dempsey bange dup.
