Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world and Portugal is hoping that he will be ready for the World Cup in Brazil, as the Real Madrid star is dealing with knee and thigh injuries and he could miss the Germany game to open Group G for the team as they head to the tournament and the national side will need Ronaldo to advance against the Germans, United States and Ghana.

Portugal is in the group of death and that makes things difficult and the team is hoping to have him healthy for the tournament. According to ESPN.com, Ronaldo came back to start training with the team on Tuesday of this week and he will be working out to see if he can get fit for the game against Germany. The national team organization announced that Ronaldo is dealing with a knee issue and a thigh injury heading into the World Cup and these have been lingering since the end of the season for the star.

Ronaldo and Gareth Bale helped the Real Madrid team win the Champions League and now he is looking to add another championship here. The first match for Portugal is in two weeks, so Ronaldo will have time to get fit before the June 16 match against the Germans. The team is training in New York for now and they have games ahead before the World Cup begins and things open with Brazil taking on Croatia on June 12.

The 29 year old is hopeful for the match against Germany and the team has some tough matches after that, including against the US at the Amazon stadium. The group of death has some very tough teams with Ghana and Germany and everyone thinks that is the toughest group in the draw.
